  4.  Okay, lets start with....
  5.  
  6.     Deadlock Issue #4/ Dimension X
  7.  
  8.   This  mag is presented really nicely
  9. with some nice menu bar GFX and a nice
  10. small font, the articles range from an
  11. interview  with Razorblade/Alliance to
  12. an  article  on  what  burgers contain
  13. (Yak!)  There are three nice, if a bit
  14. common  in style tunes to choose from,
  15. they  all seem to suit the mag though!
  16. This  Mag  also  has  a scroller going
  17. along  the bottom of the screen whilst
  18. all  articles  are  being displayed, a
  19. neat touch I haven't seen done before!
  20. One  minor  glitch  I found was that I
  21. kept  going  on  to  the  next article
  22. because the > arrow moves the mag onto
  23. the  next  article  wheras  the up and
  24. down  arrows  go  through  the  actual
  25. article.    The   articles  are  of  a
  26. generally  high  quality  and some are
  27. quite  funny  but  I felt that the mag
  28. was  slightly  lacking  in content ( I
  29. think  they did have a good reason for
  30. this  though  somewhere  in  the mag!)
  31. There was one article about a guy from
  32. `Furious  '92'  that  had  me  rolling
  33. around  in  laughter!!   but there are
  34. also  some more varied articles on the
  35. scene,  food,  Risks of dying (EeEuH!)
  36. and  all  sorts  of  other  things!  I
  37. hadn't  seen the other three issues of
  38. this  mag but I was quite impressed by
  39. the  presentation  and finesse of this
  40. product, Keep it up!

  46.      Eurochart #17/ Static Bytes
  47.  
  48.   The Eurochart used to be a favourite
  49. of  mine  and  I'm  glad  to  say that
  50. Static  Bytes have tried to retain the
  51. original   look   of   the   wonderful
  52. production  by Crusaders, they've even
  53. retained  the  original  font!  A nice
  54. Frankenstein  piccy  by  Sauron is the
  55. first  thing  that  appears.  The tune
  56. for this one is a definite improvement
  57. on  the slow, sad one on issue #16 but
  58. Static  Bytes  should realise that the
  59. Eurochart  was  and is meant to be fun
  60. and  Fleshbrain's  funkster tunes used
  61. to refelct that!  The newsfile is like
  62. a  little  disk  mag  built  in to the
  63. Eurochart,  it  is  mainly  a news and
  64. adverts  section  with the odd article
  65. here  and  there,  a  nice  touch that
  66. makes the chart last longer in appeal.
  67. Another  option  is the `Gallery' here
  68. we  see  the  pictures of all our fave
  69. scene  guyz  and  also  all  our least
  70. favourite  ones!   In the Eurochart 17
  71. they   have   added  colour  to  there
  72. digitising  buit  it's  a bit ropey to
  73. say  the  least.   (They  use a 24 bit
  74. digitiser   then   convert  it  to  16
  75. colours!) But there is something about
  76. the    eurochart    that   lacks   the
  77. excitement  of  the  original, perhaps
  78. it's  because  ypou  can predict who's
  79. going  to  be where or to steal a line
  80. from  a  writer  from Deadlock, people
  81. used  to  like  it  and  get  it  just
  82. because  it  was the Crusaders, Static
  83. Bytes   just   doesn't   do  the  same
  84. thing...    Anyway,   enough  moaning,
  85. quite a pleasing production and seeing
  86. as   it   is   THE   chart,  still  my
  87. favourite.

  93.       Satanic rites #3/ Destiny
  94.  
  95.   Okay, to start with, this production
  96. is  quite well coded, the graphics are
  97. also  of quite a high standard but the
  98. article   quality  just  isn't  there.
  99. Most of the articles are of quite poor
  100. quality   and   some  in  disgustingly
  101. garish  colours.   Destiny's obsession
  102. with Satan, rituals etc etc is getting
  103. a  bit  boring now to say the least, I
  104. admit  the  title  is  quite  good but
  105. going on about Satan all the time just
  106. isn't   funny   (If   that  what  it's
  107. supposed  to be) anymore!  To be fair,
  108. some  of  the  articles  are  okay but
  109. these   are   the   exception   in  an
  110. otherwise   well  presented  magazine.
  111. The  music isn't that suited to a disk
  112. mag  either but that's a minor problem
  113. as  it's easily rectified with the old
  114. volume knob!  (hehe)
